“What if I’m not smart enough to do this?”

“I’m not sure I have what it takes to succeed, if I try and fail I might disappoint the people I care about most!”

“What if I try my hardest, but fail anyway, I’ll have no one to blame but myself…then what?”

If you’re human and want to grow, try something new or accomplish something you’ve never done before – chances are you’ve struggled with one, all or more of these kinds of thoughts too.

Fear and self-doubt tend to go hand in hand with expansion (i.e., progress or growth).

In other words… fear = progress

Any time you begin to move outside your comfort zone, you’re going to feel discomfort, but know it means you’re progressing. And no matter how accomplished you are or what level you end up playing at in the game of life, you will experience fear! As one of my favourite leaders Nelson Mandela said…

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”
